It is important that all licence-holders implement Health and Safety Plans in their business

According to the law, anyone operating a business must have a Health & Safety Plan.  All trainers were issued licences this season upon confirmation of them being compliant with the Health and Safety at Work Act and understanding their obligations.

NZ Racing will initiate random checks on an ongoing basis to ensure trainers are carrying out their obligations. Each request will include the trainer to produce a copy of their Health & Safety Plan. There may be consequences as outlined in the Trainers’ Licence renewal application for those who are unable to produce a plan.
