NEW PRIZE FOR THE MONTHLY DUNSTAN TRAINERS’ MAIDEN NZ AWARD

DUNSTAN has been sponsor of the NZ Trainers’ Association for almost 20 years now. They provide a monthly donation which helps fund the NZTA based on sale of racehorse feed. Since 2013, they have also awarded a prize to the winning trainer of a maiden race – the only qualification being that the trainer must be a member of the Trainers’ Association. The winner has been able to make a selection of 4 bags of any of the great range of DUNSTAN feeds of their choosing. They are now changing the prize to a 750gram pail of their fabulous product, Gastro Gold, which will last a horse a month. Gastro Gold is a natural feed ingredient to help maintain gastric health in intensively managed horses at risk of gastric ulcers.

The Trainers’ Association is massively appreciative to DUNSTAN for their sponsorship.

WINNER FOR APRIL 2016

The race chosen for April was the Gavelhouse.com Maiden 1400m run at Canterbury on Saturday 16th April. The winner was Jimmy – trained by the partnership of Barrie and Nikki Blatch from Tapanui. Quite an eventful result for Nikki who also bred and shares in the ownership of the horse. It was after watching Jimmy run third at the Riverton Cup meeting that she sustained a kick to the face in the birdcage, breaking her jaw! Barrie and Nikki will be the first to receive a pail of Gastro Gold for the monthly prize.
