NZTR, following consultation with the NZ Trainer’s Association, has scheduled a series of St John First Aid workshops for licenced trainers & club staff to whom it might be relevant. Each workshop will be limited to a maximum of 20 attendees.
They will take place as follows:
Awapuni Racecourse: Tuesday 24 November 11.00am start
Cambridge Training Centre: Tuesday 1 December 11.00am start
Matamata Racecourse: Thursday 3 December 11.00am start
Pukekohe Park Racecourse: Tuesday 24 November 5.00pm start
Riccarton Park Racecourse: Tuesday 24 November 11.00am start
Otago Racecourse: Tuesday 24 November 11.00am start – To Be Confirmed – Please express interest anyway!
The intention of the workshops is to provide an opportunity for attendees to gain basic but important knowledge and skills in the area of first aid administration. They will run for approximately 4.5 hours & have been tailored to cover areas that NZTR & St John think are relevant. Content will include:
NZ Thoroughbred Racing – Basic Life Support
Duration of course is 4.5 hours
Unit Standard Assessment: 6402
Course content is Basic Life Support including:
- Scene safety
- Calling an ambulance
- plus Head and Spinal module
NZTR will meet the costs of the courses & those interested should register with Tim Lambert by 2pm Monday November 9. email@example.com . If demand is high, NZTR will look to run additional First Aid courses in 2016.
